Speechcraft Session Two - Great Ice Breaker Speeches

Dear All

Congratulations to Sophia, Melvyn, Daryl, Shahnawaz, Joy, and Eric for 'Breaking the Ice'. Not only did they demonstrate great courage in stepping forth to deliver your maiden speech, they did it with style. Considering that that was their Ice Breaker, the standard is high, and I can see great potential in all of them. I am sure that among you, are future Club/Area/Division champions.

For the next session on Sat, 26th November, everyone will be given 3-5 minutes for your P2 'Speaking In Earnest' speech. Remember what Albert Lim said about only memorising your Introduction and Conclusion and not the complete speech word for word, and what Chai Tun said about getting ideas for your speech. Remember your take-away message.

Looking forward to seeing all of you on Sat, 26th November 2011. Let us try to be on time (- our meeting room is available from 10am onwards -) so that we can start and end the meeting punctually.

Warmest Regards,

First Session of Speechcraft

Dear Team Members

We can give ourselves a pat on the back for a job well done today. Our first Speechcraft Workshop went smoothly and extremely well because all of us - Michael, Sharon, Richard, Murni, Senthil, and yours truly - worked together as a team and performed our various roles well. This is further supported by our visiting Toastmasters, Mike Woon, John Tan, Lynda Neo, and Michi Ng, and of course the excellent Educational Segment by John Sih is the ICING ON THE CAKE. A BIG THANK YOU to all of you. This workshop has also given us an opportunity to improve our leadership skills as Advisors/Mentors to the Speechcrafters.

Our Club Mentor, Mike Woon, received very positive feedback about our first session from all our new speechcrafters. With this Workshop, it means that we have radded another 9 new members for this term, which gives us an additional 2 DCP (Distinguished Club Programme) points. We are nearer to our goal of becoming President's Distinguished Club.

Once again, let's put our best foot forward and play our part in making Toastmasters@Hope a club that is warm and friendly as well as a club of excellence.

A heartfelt Thank You To All
Warmest Regards
Catherine Goh
